So, now that Kindermusik is over, I wanted to find a new weekly "class" for Nate. One of my friends in Book Club, Stacey, has a 14 month old daughter Jewel, and mentioned that they do a gymnastics class and love it. So, we decided to try our hand at it!
Last week, we went for a free class to try it out. I wasn't expecting much, since Nate is super shy and not so coordinated yet! But he did great! The trampoline was his favorite - with Mommy's help of course - and he liked watching the 2 older kids run & around and be wild. He liked the teacher, though he seemed a bit wary at first.
Well, today's class was even better! He hit it off with Jewel - they weren't there last week - who kept pointing to the moose on his shirt and pointing at his belly button. Too funny! He had fun doing headstands, forward rolls, climbing thru the tunnels, and playing in the ball pit! He is not a fan of the beam or bars yet.
The class is for 1-3 year olds, and most of them are right around Nate's age, so no one is really old enough to do real "moves" on all of the equipment. It's really just like a huge playtime, which is fine with me.
(Becca, there is one 2-yr-old in class that had on the cutest leotard. It reminded me of the one you gave Hadley. Too precious! Luckily, Nate gets to wear comfy clothes - warmup pants and a tshirt - so ML and Casey, no leotard comments please!)

I am seeing visions of flips off the stairs like we used to do... until Bec dented the wall and split her head open and we went to the emergency room.
Dear lord I hope Nate doesn't do that! But he might!! Maybe bring some of those blue mats next week!? :)
The blue mats are still in use. they are stored at school for when we have pilates. they have dried paint and words written on them but Nathan can be the next generation to use them. They got alot of use from my little "gymnasts"
I'm so excited he's doing gymnastics! It really is a great starting point for all sports! No leotards for Nate the Great! I love the idea of a free class to try it out.....i think i might suggest that...
