Thank heaven for little GIRLS!

One of my best friends and college roommates, Klug, had a baby girl early this morning!!! She & husband Bobby are both very overjoyed & surprised (although they didn't know the gender ahead of time, they both thought it was a boy. Wrong)! I am so excited for them both and am dying to meet their new little one. Look how cute her chubby cheeks are!

Here's the stats on HADLEY TATE HEUBER:
Born 4:36 am on June 12th
8 lbs 2 oz and 20 inches long

Here's the details.....Klug checked into the hospital last night because she was having strong contractions. When the nurse found out she was 2 days past her due date, they broke her water. At 1:30 am, she got an epidural (God bless epidurals!) Her family and best friend, Becca, were at the hospital with her. The doctor said it'd be awhile before the baby came, so she sent them back to her house to catch a few hours of sleep. Klug herself even settled in for a nap. Well, at 4 am, the nurse woke Klug up because she was fully dilated! Holy crap! She pushed for 20 minutes and then her beautiful baby girl arrived. Yay for a short labor! Not so sure her family was thrilled....they were still back at Klug's place sleeping. They got a call from Klug at 5:30 am saying the baby was born. Oops.

Anyways, I hear from Becca that mom & baby are doing great. (Other than being in shock and having no name picked out, that is.) And in typical Klug-fashion, she has already had a bath this morning, put on a cute dress, and is walking around the hospital like she didn't just push out an 8 lb baby! Gotta love that girl!

So, to the new parents, I wish you well. You are about to embark on the most awesome, challenging, rewarding, and entertaining journey of your life! I love you both!

Thanks Em...you summed it up perfect! Thanks for all your advice in preparation for labor! I would do it again anyday because holding her for the first time erases any pain that you have to go through! Can't wait for Nate and Tate to meet! :)
