I love our neighborhood!! It is full of families with kids, especially on our street (rather, our "circle"). And it seems to be growing each day....5 of the ladies on my street were pregnant this summer! We were really lucky to end up in such a great neighborhood, where everyone is so friendly and "neighborly."
Well, Greg & I try to go for a walk with Nate after dinner each night. It's a good way to get some fresh air, and also seems to calm him down for bedtime. We always see at least 1 or 2 neighbors out, with their kids, dogs, or both. Last night was no exception. Before we were hardly out of our driveway, our next door neighbors' kids came running to see "Baby Nate." Joshua is 6 and Mallory is 3. Their mom informed me that Mallory has recently named one of her baby dolls Baby Nate, and reads to her (yes, the doll is a girl) and kisses her every night before bed. She even puts pull-ups on Baby Nate. How sweet is that?? And Joshua has already promised to teach Nate how to throw a baseball when he gets old enough. (Joshua thinks he's hot stuff right now b/c he got a grand slam this weekend in his game! :)
Nate also lights up when he sees any of the neighborhood dogs. He waves hi and gets a huge smile each time. His favorite dog to pet is Cody, a medium-sized dog (a sheltie maybe?) that lives across the street. (That family is one of the preggos....Susan is having a baby girl in December.) Nate loves when Cody licks/kisses his toes! We do want to get a dog for Nate one day, b/c it's obvious he adores them, but it will have to wait a few years. (We have to wait till he's old enough to help with walking/feeding/scooping the poop!!)

I'm so glad to hear to Nate loves dogs. I only wish he could get to know "Shi Shi" he's such a hit with his dad and his Granddad Stan!!!!..It sounds like you are really enjoying your neighborhood, they are lucky to have you too.
