Going too fast...

Baby Girl is 15 wks old today!

She is definitely starting to assert herself more these days...when she's bored/tired/hungry, she lets you know! And she likes being in the standing or sitting position the best:

Mr. Mom taking the kids for a walk since we had such pretty weather this weekend. And yes, he is carrying a coffee mug. Forever a nerd.

Love those bright blue eyes!

We tried out the jumpster/doorway swing this week and it was a hit! Nate started playing in it around 15 wks, so we figured Abby would like it too. Well, she did like it but she looked waaaay smaller in it! Her feet were 3 inches off the floor! So she doesn't "jump" so much as just "hang" in it. But hey, she loves it and it keeps her from fussing! Here is Nate at 15 wks in the jumpster:

And then here is Miss Priss....it's hard to tell, but seriously, her feet aren't even close to the ground. And her head is barely above the tray!

I definitely bragged on Abby too soon....for the past 2 wks, she has had pretty awful naps. I'm talking 20-40 minutes max. Thank goodness she still sleeps well at night, but really, I just can't figure out what her deal is and it's frustrating!

Funny story: I joined a gym about a month ago, and go every M/W after I drop off Nate at school. Abby stays in the gym "nursery" and all the workers love her b/c they don't usually get a ton of babies...just toddlers and up. I always give them instructions (big surprise) when I drop Abby off: "Please wake her at 10 and give her a bottle, then keep her awake after that." One of the ladies laughed at me the other day when I did this. She said "Oh yes, we know about Miss Abby." Then she proceeded to tell me that I was the only "Schedule Mom" they have. That's what they call me! Schedule Mom! I thought it was hilarious. And the lady wasn't being rude, she was just letting me know. Oh well....that's how I am and I don't know any other way to be!! :) I'm just glad she's doing well in the nursery and it gives me a nice 2 hr break from both kids. Not to mention that I'm loving working out with my new trainer! Not loving the diet she has me on, but hey, I've got to get rid of this baby belly (x2) that I have!

Other pics from this week:
(Yes, my son is a weirdo....don't ask)

Klug & Becca - look, it's her first pair of pumas!!!! :)

Big eyes like her momma!

How pitiful can she be!? I love that little lip..

And last but not least.. my new favorite pic!!!

Abby's Room

Erin V, this post is for you!! I know you've been patiently waiting for these pics...hope they don't disappoint!

So I had quite the time picking out colors & bedding for Abby's room once we found out we were having a GIRL. I knew for sure I didnt want a ton of pink....for those that know me well, I am just NOT a pink person. Well instead, I went with purple, and had pink & green (accents). I got out of painting b/c I was preggo - yet again - and Joyce/Mum-Mum graciously volunteered to paint the room. (She did Nate's too!) We went with a lavendar on top, a white chair rail, and then a super light lavendar on the bottom. It was a lot of purple at first, but now I love it. And another thing that I love about her room is all the mementos from my nursery when I was a baby! A big thank you to my mom for keeping all this stuff and being so sentimental like I am! Hopefully one day Abby will want some of the things from her nursery for her little girl....oh gosh that makes me tear up....ok, here are a few pics:

Full view of walls & super stuffed bookshelf, already. Lots of presents from friends & relatives.

These shadow boxes contain objects with special meaning....a music box (Peter Cottontail) from my nursery, Dad's first pair of shoes - bronzed, and some silver cups from my grandmother

This hangs over the changing table; a friend from my book club made it for me. And big shocker - I actually picked out the PINK fabric!

Love this sign & piggy bank!

One of Greg's colleagues got this little piggy bank engraved with Abby's info. So sweet!

More stuff from my nursery as a little girl - ballerina music box & china plate

The bedding I finally decided on, from Target. In my opinion, it's not TOO girly, but there is a little pink after all. I surprised myself! And, I love polka dots!

14 wks and counting

Little Miss Priss is 14 wks old today! We had a great visit this past weekend with Nana & Poppy....but I'm not sure who enjoyed themselves more - Nana or Nate! :)

Proud Nana with her granddaughter

Nate loves when Nana comes b/c he gets to take a bath in the "BIG BOY" bathtub (in our master bathroom). Nate has a ball, as you can tell!

Two handsome WFU Deacons

Enjoying alone time with N&P at Chuck-E-Cheese

BFF, Bob the Builder

Baby Girl

It was so good to see N&P, as well as get to have a rare date night with Greg! We went to an EXCELLENT steakhoues in Cool Springs (Thanks for the recommendation, H!) and thoroughly enjoyed our celebrating our 10th Vday together!

Abby is full of smiles & loves to "talk" these days. Greg is bending over backwards trying to make her laugh, but so far, she's being pretty stubborn. She is definitely losing her hair (Nate was bald at 4 months, so we expect the same from Abby) and is rocking a serious bald spot in the back and a mullet underneath. It's oh so attractive! Here's some more pics of our Abby Dabby from the week...

Love that 1/2 smile!

Smiling at Mommy on the playmat

Watching her silly Big Brother

Poor girl, she got my double chins! Somehow they look a lot cuter on her though!

Playing Catch-Up

Now that our computer is fixed (thanks to my wonderful hubbie!!), I am playing catch up. Here is Abby's "Week 13," in pics:

Love that crooked smile

She reminds me of one of my college roomies, Klug here...throwing that head back to laugh...

Big Brother, as usual, wants to be in the spotlight too. He gathered all of these "treasures" himself: a remote control, Dad's TN tobaggan, and a ribbon.

Spending some time at Hallie's while I ran errands (thanks again H!)

Superbowl party with our sweet neighbors....here is Nate's BFF, Mallory with her adopted baby sister

Seriously, these two are in love. And Nate does whatever Mal Mal says....as you can see here...

Never thought I'd get into Abby's clothes like this...but I just LOVE her dress, tights, and little shoes!!

My baby girl!

Not MY Nate....

For the first time today, Nate got in trouble at school! (And for some strange reason, I was mildly excited about it!)

During naptime, he was huddled in a corner with a classmate named Bailee, and they were talking & giggling instead of napping. They were so disruptive that the teachers had to separate them and put them in different corners of the room! Which didn't really work, b/c they both continued to giggle and did not nap at ALL. Now I think this is hilarious b/c Bailee's mom has been telling me for weeks that Bailee is in love with "Mate." I guess Nate finally gave in, haha!

Now, to Nate's credit, they did have a Valentine's Day party today RIGHT before naptime. Complete with pizza, candy, and cupcakes with frosting. So maybe he was just a little hyper from all the sugar & excitement.

Or maybe he is starting to get girl-crazy already :) Don't tell his Dad!!

(On a sidenote: Abby is officially 3 months old today!! So crazy that we are reaching this big milestone already. And I'm sorry I dont have pics to post this week...we are having computer issues at the moment.)

Mother of the Year

Nate has been saying for a few days that his shoes are too tight. I told him to get over it, b/c his shoes still slipped on easily.

Well....we took him to Stride Rite to get measured yesterday. His current sneakers are a size 6. They measured him at a 7 1/2 wide, and advised us to buy size 8 wide shoes. OMG!!! He wasn't kidding!! My poor son's feet are going to be deformed :(

Mother of the Year, right here.

Big stuff

Lots of big stuff this week....smiles, snow, rolling over, and Abby hit the 12 week mark!!

She is getting to be quite the sleeper....loves her crib for naps, as long as she has her hat on and her sound machine on. She likes the "heartbeat" setting...kinda creepy, but I think it comforts her (b/c it resembles the womb). And it blocks out any fussing by Big Brother! :) She is still doing well at night too... wakes up like clockwork btw 4:30-5 am, but just grunts/fusses and goes back to sleep till 6:30 am when we start our day. That is early for me, but I am slowly getting used to it. I am just grateful she is such a good sleeper!

She also rolled over for the first time this week! From her tummy to her back. Of course, she hasn't done it since, and poor Greg is dying to see it! She is super strong though, and can hold up her head like a champ.

We also broke out the Bumbo seat this week...and Abby loves it! We didn't have one of these with Nate, but so many of my friends loved them that we had to try it this time around. She is still a little small, and doesn't fit perfectly in the Bumbo, but I think she enjoys sitting up and getting a different view of the world. Her favorite thing to watch: her Big Brother :)

And I know this is going to make me sound crazy, but I swear this girl can smile on command!! Every time I ask her to smile, she does! So we had a lot of photo shoots this week :)

Here is her Leapfrog Caterpillar pal. She loves when he sings to her!

Big Brother Nate, cheesin' as usual
