Nate had school on Thursday so Abby had N&P all to herself. She loved mimicking Poppy at lunchtime (see below), and entertained both N&P with her funny faces.
Friday, according to Nate, was the "best day ever!" N&P took the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese, McDonald's, AND Toys R Us. Yes, they are brave!! Nate & Poppy did all the "gun" games at Chuck-E-Cheese, while Nanny did her best keeping up with our little Dora the Explorer. Abby is such a wanderer these days! They had a great lunch at McDonald's - even fed the birds some fries - and then headed to Toys R Us for a new Tag book. As you can probably guess, they both took amazing naps that afternoon...N&P wore them out!
And I got to hop up to Nashville to see my best friend's little baby, Cole Madewell, who was born on Thursday! He is a DOLL and it was so good snuggling & loving on him.
Saturday was Nanny's bday and she chose to take everyone to the zoo in Nashville! Nate had been once before - when he was around 18 months - but this was Abby's first time. And we were sure our little animal lover would have a ball. And that she did, once we got a few little tantrums out. Miss Priss wanted to walk instead of being pushed in the stroller (big surprise), but animal crackers & a drink from N's nalgene were able to keep her in the stroller for a few long hikes.
Nate and I climbed into the meerkat "bubble" and got to see them close-up. They were really cute!
Excited to be at the zoo!
Best buds
We could tell when Abby spotted an animal...she got very animated!
She was in hog heaven
Look at my cuties...getting so big!
Abby LOVED the goats...probably b/c she could touch them!!
Nate loved them too but of course wanted to brush them instead of pet them. Can you say germ-a-phobe!?
Miss Hollywood enjoying the play area after our picnic lunch
All I've been hearing about for WEEKS is how Nate wanted to see the giraffes. They were literally the last animals we saw, and Nate did not seem too enthralled. In fact, there was a wishing well right next to the giraffes and that/watching a quarter roll down was more exciting. Figures.
He got to pick out one toy from the gift shop and got a Survival Kit!? Magnifying glass, compass, and mirror. What every 3 yr old needs.
After late naps, Aunt Bebe & Uncle Mike drove from Knoxville to celebrate Nanny's bday!! We took advantage of the beautiful weather (finally!) and headed outside immediately. We played on the neighbors swings, rode bikes, played soccer, and had swordfights. Then inside for some Final Four action & a mexican fiesta for dinner. It was all topped off with a delicious ice cream cake that was a big hit with everyone!

What a great weekend & time with family!!
