No FEMA trailer for us!

Greg and I spent a few days in Tuscaloosa this past week, frantically searching for a house. It was slim-pickings, due to all the displaced families from the tornado. Luckily, we stumbled upon one that just recently came onto the rental market.

It's full of "character" (read: it's old) but it has more space than we know what to do with!! So everyone has an open invitation to visit! (You just might need to bring an aerobed with you!) I apologize for the poor quality of this pic - I scanned it off the flier. Still waiting on the realtor to email me pics from the listing, since she took it offline. So, stay tuned for more pics! Especially in August!
It's a 4 BR, 3 BA place in the Historic District of Tuscaloosa. I love all the little "extras" this house has to offer....hardwoods everywhere, a beautiful magnolia tree in front, both a rec/bonus room and sunroom, a chalkboard pantry door, a 6 burner gas stove, a little courtyard on the side of the house with a white picket fence, and beautiful azaleas too. Thankfully, the bathrooms and kitchen have recently been renovated and are top of the line! The paint colors leave something to be desired, but we have permission to paint if we want to. (And we all know I'm an expert at painting now!) It's in a small neighborhood, kind of like a large loop, and we are at one of the ends so the kids will be able to play outside safely. There is a fenced-in yard, and a nice back porch. We've met one of the neighbors and he's super friendly! He has 6 & 8 yr old boys, and he told us the neighbors on the other side have a 1 yr old...yay!

It's also super close to the campus - a 5 minute drive maybe - so Greg is thrilled with that. And it's near Nate's school as well. We could not have asked for a better location!!

Since we STILL have not sold our house here (it's been 3+ months!), we decided to rent in Tuscaloosa instead of buy. We signed a 1 yr lease, with the option to buy later. The previous owner is having some work done on the house - fixing the gutters, adding a new fence in the backyard - so we are not moving till August 1st.

Let the packing begin!
