Nate had a great time with his friends, despite one minor setback at the beginning of the party as the guests were arriving. He was standing on one of the picnic tables, reaching for a balloon, when he lost his balance and fell forward....as in, he faceplanted on the cement. We were lucky he only ended up with a big bruise on his eye/cheek (that didn't show up till a few hours later). Poor little guy! Luckily, his BFF Mal Mal was arriving just as this happened, so she helped to ease his pain! :)
Nate is SO loved by so many people and this was evident at the party. He had lots of friends and their mommys come, as well as many family members that traveled long distances. His Mum-Mum and Granddaddy came from Johnson City, TN; Nanny & Poppy came from Clemmons, NC; Aunt Becky & Uncle Mike came from Charlotte, NC. (And to the rest of our family members - we missed you!) A big thanks to all of you for traveling so far, AND for helping so much with set-up, etc.

We had a ton of fun...minus our sweat drenched clothes. I appreciate 1 decent picture of me. The other 2 prove that I don't look attactive when I sweat so I should probably always stay in the AC :)

I was thinking about you guys and trying not to at the same time b/c I so wanted to be there! So happy the party turned out well and Nate seemed to have a great time :) I am consoling myself with the fact that I'll see ALL of you in less than 2 weeks!!
Oh, what a fun party!! We had anticipated only staying for 30 min. because of the heat and my preggers state, but what a blessing to have a constant breeze!! Noah really enjoyed himself and so did we!! Thanks for inviting us!

so glad that the weather cooperated by being windy and not raining. I think it is stretching your luck for next year to be an outside party. We enjoyed seeing yours and Nate's friends. That picture of Nate kissing Abby's hand is precious.
what a fun bday party for nate! he's definitely a little man now, what a cutie too! you have so many friends with kids, i need to work on that in denver. :)
