Lordy Lordy, Grandma's....90?!

This past weekend we traveled to Memphis for Grandma Givens' surprise 90th bday party. (Yes, we know it's not the smartest idea to surprise a woman about to turn 90, so we did it in phases and she was fine :)


Nate went to Memphis a day early with Mum Mum & Granddaddy, and Greg and I left early Saturday AM with Abby. And thanks to the best invention ever - the portable dvd player - we had a very uneventful drive. We were staying at the party house, with Aunt Molly & Shan. And Greg's sister Gena even made the trip from Tampa! It was good to see everyone.




After naptime, the party got into full swing... complete with lots of yummy food, cake, and ...what else...a horse party! To say Aunt Molly & Shan are horse lovers is a huge understatement! So we watched the Preakness, and afterwards gave Grandma her gifts. She was so touched everyone was there to celebrate her bday, and she loved loved loved seeing her 2 great-grandkids. And great they were!!! Nate took to Grandma pretty quickly, and Abby - though entertaining - kept her distance. It made me so happy just for Grandma to be able to see them & love on them.





Thank you again to Aunt Molly & Shan for hosting/planning the party, as well as letting us stay with you! We had a great time!! (MUCH better than last year's trip :)
